"LIFE WITHOUT GOD IS LIKE AN UN SHARPENED PENCIL---IT HAS NO POINT
I am honored to do this!

ACLU has filed a suit to end prayer from the military completely. They're making great progress. The Navy Chaplains can no longer mention Jesus' name in prayer thanks to the ACLU and others.

I'm not breaking this one.

If I get it a 1000 times, I'll forward it a 1000 times!

Let us pray...

Prayer chain for our Military... Don't break it!

Please send this on after a short prayer. Pray for our soldiers Don't break it!
Prayer:

'Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. In Jesus’ name, Amen.'

Prayer Request: When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our troops around the world.

There is nothing attached. Just send this to people in your address book. Do not let it stop with you. Of all the gifts you could give a Marine, Soldier, Sailor, Airman, & others deployed in harm's way, prayer is the very best one.
GOD BLESS YOU FOR PASSING IT ON!"

Good Morning, America and Singapore...(And the Rest of the World !)

By the looks of my "stats", it appears there are frequent visitors from Singapore.
Thanks to all who visit this site.
I haven't published much lately though, please excuse me.

I had my last final exam for this semester yesterday. I am still awaiting the results to be posted on the Macon State's Banner Web, but I did get my test results on the last final yesterday before I left class. SMILE!

I missed 6 questions of 120!!! Yea!
Now, if I could only get my English test results...
Well, no time to sit around and watch for grades to be posted; I have work to do--yardwork.
Remember that tornado that came through on 4-5-11?
Well, there is still a lot of clean-up to do.

I have truly been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to get out and get to work on our yard.

SEE YALL LATER!

Remarks by the President on Osama Bin Laden

The White House
Office of the Press Secretary

Remarks by the President on Osama Bin Laden

East Room

11:35 P.M. EDT
THE PRESIDENT:  Good evening.  Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of al Qaeda, and a terrorist who’s responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women, and children.
It was nearly 10 years ago that a bright September day was darkened by the worst attack on the American people in our history.  The images of 9/11 are seared into our national memory -- hijacked planes cutting through a cloudless September sky; the Twin Towers collapsing to the ground; black smoke billowing up from the Pentagon; the wreckage of Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where the actions of heroic citizens saved even more heartbreak and destruction.
And yet we know that the worst images are

Interest Group Techniques- Persuasion and Access
  1. Persuasion
    • General public
    • Public officials- not simply elected officials, involves bureaucrats and elected officials
  2. Judicial techniques- it is against the law to “lobby” a federal judge
  1. Amicus Curiae Briefs- (friend of the court)- not a direct party to the case, interested in outcome, write persuasive briefs directed to parties of a case; not required to have legal training; if for free, it’s “pro bono”
  2. Litigation- (lawsuit)- the litigants are the plaintiff and the defendant
    • Brown v. BOE of Topeka (1954)- ACLU, an outside interest group, wrote an ACB in support of Brown
    • NAACP actually litigated the case and paid for it
Writ of Certiorari (costs an average of 6-7 million dollars)- a formal petition seeking the court’s review (A writ of certiorari currently means an order by a higher court directing a lower court, tribunal, or public authority to send the record in a given case for review.)
    • Planned Parenthood v. Casey, [Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey, 505 U.S. 833 (1992)] is an example of interest group litigating.
    • In forma pauperis- “as a pauper”; avoid the payment of court fees

  1. Lobbying- it is against the law to
