Venomous Sunbather

Just thought I would offer a reminder to be very careful when you go to the river. Hazards are not always so easily detected. At what point do you see this one?

No, I didn't really want to disturb it. I am several feet away and  it actually seemed that I never bothered it. I think it might have been molting. Its eyes were rather glassy-looking. I left it alive and well (where I found it).
